Black Beauty has started to form into its own standard. Many Black women (and men) have adapted their own sense of style when it comes to what they find as comfortable and confident to them. A trend that seems to rise in popularity is eyelashes. False eyelashes have always been a fashion staple. Mascara has been a way to extend the natural lash, and by the 1960s the false eyelash extension began to become popular amongst women. However, in more recent times a particular length and style of eyelashes have begun to sweep the community. They became more accessible and catered to the African- American demographic. This has begun to inspire many young Black entrepreneurs seen within the US & UK, to begin selling their own to their own people.

It is not often that one would find a male catering to these demographics. From what I've seen, it has always been females selling eyelashes, hair, and more. Below you will meet Andrew Chiwara, a young businessman from Florida who has taken his passion for entrepreneurship to change the narrative between Black Men and business and who they can and can not sell.

My name is Andrew Chiwara, I am a second-year Agribusiness scholar at Florida A&M University. I have had an interest in business since I was in middle school, anything from fixing phone screens to buying and selling shoes, I have always found myself running a business. My newest venture has introduced me to a market that I was not very educated in, and I was able to learn and about it, thanks in large to those around me. My business, CozarttsMinkCollection, is an Online Boutique selling lashes, hair, as well as hair pins. I have been running this business for about 9 months.
